The Event. Sunday’s initiative by portrait photographer Davide Sionis

The photographer who explores hidden identities

Finding beauty in ordinary people and celebrating it through a photograph: this is the aim of “Who I Am,” an event scheduled for Sunday from 9 am to 8 pm at ElStudio on Via Mameli 126. The initiative is conceived and organized by Davide Sionis, an urban and portrait photographer who has built his career by exploring personal and collective identity.

Who hides behind an image? A story, a person, a soul. “Who I Am” seeks to investigate this through a series of monthly sessions. “It will be an immersive experience,” explains Sionis, “to express oneself through an authentic and personal portrait, with the opportunity to share one’s story and uniqueness, exploring the concept of who we truly are.”

There’s both art and sociology: “I aim to analyze how individuals choose to represent themselves and which identity elements they decide to show or emphasize. Each portrait becomes a visual testimony of subjective choices. Participants must answer one fundamental question: ‘Who am I, and how do I want to present myself?’ In this way, the portraits that emerge convey uniqueness, belonging, and otherness.”

To participate, it is necessary to send an email to davidesionis@davidesionis.com.
